One Size Does Not Fit All
Utilities operate under vastly different conditions. Climate, terrain, infrastructure design, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities all shape how technology must perform in the field. At Laki Power, we recognize that deploying effective power line monitoring solutions requires more than standard hardware and software, it requires deep customization driven by customer input.
Our approach is simple: listen first, then engineer solutions shaped by our customer´s realities.
Hardware Customization for Extreme Environments
One of the clearest examples of a customization in practice was a project where we had to customize our flagship product, the LKX-MULTI to operation in desert climates during peak summer conditions. High ambient temperatures, sandstorms, and limited airflow make traditional cooling methods such as fans and filters unreliable or impractical.
To address this, we developed a desert-specific cooling architecture using thermoelectric cooling. Instead of relying on air exchange, with thermoelectric cooling, heat is actively transferred from inside the device to the exterior. This approach allowed our devices to maintain stable internal temperatures even when external conditions exceed 50°C.

This approach improves system reliability and reduced dependency on maintenance-intensive components.
Configuration-Level Customization for Security Use Cases
Customization does not stop at environmental resilience. Utilities also differ in how they use real-time monitoring data.
In projects focused on infrastructure security and protection, we customized camera configurations to align with customer-specific operational goals:
Flexible camera placement and viewing angles
In a high-traffic urban environments, camera positioning was adjusted to monitor critical points of interest below the conductor and at the nearest tower. This enabled a focused, targeted monitoring to protect key infrastructure in areas with elevated operational risk.Video footage captured from the LKX-MULTI
360-degree visibility for enhanced awareness
In environments requiring comprehensive oversight, additional cameras were integrated to provide all-directional coverage. This configuration supported proactive monitoring and faster response to potential incidents.

These adaptations ensured the utilities received insight that is relevant, actionable, and aligned with how they operate.
Customer Feedback as a Design Input
What ties these projects together is not a specific technology, but a mindset. Customer feedback is treated as a design input, not an afterthought. By aligning solutions with how utilities actually operate, we help them reduce complexity, improve decision-making, and focus resources on what is most important.
Enabling Utilities to Do More
Customization allows utilities to extract greater value from the same infrastructure. Whether operating in extreme climates or addressing evolving security requirements, tailored solutions ensure technology supports, not constrains operations.
At Laki Power, customization is how we help utilities do more, operate smarter, and remain resilient in an increasingly demanding environment.
